Beauty Breakdown: Nina Dobrev's Hairstyle And Makeup At The 2011 Teen Choice Awards

Nina Dobrev looked stunning at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards last night, in a turn of events that will shock exactly no one. Makeup artist Kayleen McAdams created her makeup look. The beauty inspiration? Per Kayleen: “The image we had of Nina was a beautiful Italian girl in the countryside. I wanted her to look innocent with a touch of sex appeal so I gave her a subtle glow on the face and did a disheveled matte black cat eye. I used a sheer matte product on her lips to achieve the nude dark peach shade.” Read on...

Get the makeup look:  “ As a base I used Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation, and applied a bit of MAC Pressed Powder on top. I used Benefit Bronzer in Hoola in the cheeks for a subtle sun kissed look. For an all over bronzed glow, I applied St. Tropez Instant Glow Mousse on the body. For the eyes, I used a soft mushroom color – NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Portobello. To create the sexy black cat eye, I lined the top of the lash line with Shiseido The Makeup Accentuating Cream Eyeliner in Deep Black, slightly winging out the line at the corners. Two generous coats of CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Noir-Black completed the look, and I set her brows with Anastasia Brow Gel. Finally, her lips were a sheer, matte dark peach shade with NARS Sheer Lip Tint in Madere.”

Hairstylist Cervando Maldonado was inspired by Italian film sirens of the 1960s when creating Nina Dobrev's 2011 Teen Choice Awards hairstyle. To get the look: “Start first with damp hair and spray Oscar Blandi Volume Spray on the roots through the top of the head, then apply Kerastase Nutri Sculp Mousse though out all ends. Blow dry hair with round brush - start in front and set with Velcro rollers for volume. For the rest of head, blow dry from nape to top and pin curl each section of hair after drying it securing it with duckbill clips. After hair cools, take pins and rollers out. Leave the pieces around the face and take the rest of hair and brush it up into a sleek pony tail on the crown using a smooth bungee cord rubber band to secure. Center part and then pull front pieces back into pony tail and secure with bobby pins .To finish hair, use Rose Veil Hair Serum to smooth down frizz. For lasting hold, spray with L’Oreal Elnett extra strong hold to set hair and give extra texture.”
