Official Mascara Correspondent: D.J.V. Beautenizer Fiberwig LX Mascara Review

This week's must-have lash lengthener? D.J.V. Beautenizer Fiberwig LX Mascara. Official Mascara Correspondent Ashleigh Ciucci reviews. Is it glamazing or goopy? Check it:

I'm often a little wary of fibrous mascara formulas. I wear contacts and find that the fibers can flake and irritate my eyes. This isn't the case with d.j.v.'s Fiberwig LX. First of all, the mascara goes on very conservatively.

The soft curved brush applies a light coat of product/fibers. Because the formula is rich in botanicals and moisturizing agents, there is a lot of play time before it dries. (When it does dry, it's flake-free! Happy contacts!) I was able to build a lot of length with just one coat. My lashes were soft and tapered but didn't have a lot of density at the roots. With my second coat, I had an equal amount of play-time with the product and found that it was near impossible to work the product to build volume. I even went in for a third coat to no avail. I liked the lengthening effect and considered it a good trade off for not having a thick lashline.

Midday, I was able to slather on another coat for a pigment boost to take me into the evening, but found that if I played too much the ends of my lashes got stubby. While this mascara seals around your lashes, leaving them smudge-proof, it washes off easily with warm water. The fibers wash out into your sink, so don't be alarmed!

I'd buy this one for a flirty lash effect.

D.J.V. Beautenizer Fiberwig LX Mascara retails for $24 at Sephora.com.
