Claire Danes' makeup look at the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards came courtesy of makeup artist Matin Maulawizada, Global Artistry Director and Brand Ambassador for Laura Mercier. I got the scoop on how he created the presenter’s flawless Emmy night look--a modern take on 80s Rock-and-Roll. Read on for the how-to.
Face:
To ensure Claire’s makeup remained flawless throughout the evening - from her early afternoon red carpet arrival to post-show after-parties, Matin prepped Claire’s face using Laura Mercier Foundation Primer, $30.
He then applied Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation in Sunny Beige, $42, to create an even, flawless face.
Matin then lightly applied Laura Mercier Crème Cheek Colour in Oleander, $22, to Claire’s cheekbones to enhance her natural glow.
The look was set with Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder in Translucent, $34, a universal loose powder that creates a soft-focus effect on-camera.
Lips:
Matin created a modern take on the classic red lip by applying several layers of Laura Mercier Gel Lip Colour in Clementine, $22 to Claire’s lips. “Claire loved the sheer pop of color Laura Mercier’s Gel Lip Colour provided,” said Matin.
Eyes:
Matin created a seductive, smoky eye using Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Liner in Black, $22.
