Small businesses are fueling our town's economy, and this Saturday, I took it to the streets in search of some fabulous small biz beauty and fashion finds. Here's what I scored:
Rebecca Minkoff Sample Sale
With just 30 employees but a kick-ass selection of bags (MAJOR), shoes, accessories and ready-to-wear, Rebecca Minkoff rocks the funk. At her sample sale this Saturday, I purchased the large Morning After Clutch in red. It's The Business. I've been coveting it since Dina scored one a couple months ago.
Thompson Chemists
One of my favorite niche beauty haunts, Thompson Chemists and nearby Thompson Alchemists boast an impressive array of international beauty delights. It's also the only place I know of in NYC that sells famous French moisturizer Embryolisse, which I adore for colder weather. Save yourself a FLIGHT and score one there. I also scored some Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel Pads and one of their house-brand soaps in the eucalyptus scent. Amaze.
New London Pharmacy
This pharmacy is enormous and does what Thompson Chemists does on a larger scale. The bent is toward organic/natural beauty brands, but you'll also find a full makeup counter featuring Becca and Kevyn Aucoin Beauty confections, in addition to amazing brands like John Masters Organics, Nuxe and fabulous fragrance finds like Etat Libre d'Orange. I picked up a brand new bottle of It's A 10 Miracle Leave-in Plus Keratin here.
