Channel A Look: 'Savages'' Ophelia

Why can't I stop trying to replicate Blake Lively's "Savages" look in all its carefree California glory? Those are two things that I'm so very not and YET it's my END GAME this entire week to look exactly like her. Here are some products  I recommend to get her minimal makeup and hair that's not understandable, but infinitely seductive.

Blake Lively Savages Beauty Items

Makeup

Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturize SPF 30 PA+++  ($42) Imparts a diaphanous sheer tint that manages to cover all manner of imperfections (not that Blake has any) while never giving the illusion you're wearing a drop of makeup so you'll still appear fresh as a daisy and ready for "wargasms."

Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Liner in Black ($4) O's look is fairly minimal, save for decidedly defined eyes in no-holds-barred black, unsmudged. Try this wallet-friendly pencil out on your two BFs this weekend. #embarassmentofriches
L'oreal Paris Colour Riche Le Balm in Caramel Comfort ($8) is the perfect hydrating balm with SPF and a hint of tint  in a neutral pinked-off caramel.

Route Des Indes De Chanel Illuminating Powder With Shimmer ($80) looks like an all-over product (and it can be), but I recommend using it as an eye shadow/highlighter for maximum golden glow a la O.

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Hot Tamale ($8)  is the most perfect inexpensive cream blush I've ever encountered. Dab some on the apples of your cheeks; look like you've been doing two dudes.
Urban Decay Cannonball Waterproof Mascara Stays on while you're crying about not having any malls when you relocate your drug lord biz to Bali.

Hair

Rodin  Luxury Hair Oil ($65) Just like every other item in the Rodin lineup, this one's a total winner. Created by hairstylist Bob Recine, this cocktail of oils yields frizz-free, glossy locks worthy of O's, which, let's be real, were the main character of the film. Seriously, there were so many shots of Blake's mane blowing in the breeze, which Oliver Stone must have enjoyed as much as, say, Neil Kellerman did Baby Houseman's.
Josie Maran Bohemian Waves Hair Mist ($22)  Salt sprays mimic beach hair, but they also mimic the thirsty, salt-stricken situation, as well. It looks good, but doesn't always feel good. Josie Maran's argan oil-infused iteration nourishes while it tousles for optimal Ophelia effect.

Body
Kiehl's Aromatic Blends Fig Leaf & Sage Body Lotion ($26) Kiehl's new aromatic blends are a melange of fresh, non-cloying scents with the brand's signature elegant glide and soothing moisturizing capacity. Fig Leaf & Sage is a vaguely herbal, verdant combo that is perfect before an application of self-tanner.

Borghese Cura C Anhydrous Vitamin C Body Scrub ($50) Pre self-tan, this scrub sloughs off any dull dead cells that need to go the way of Paul Haggis from Scientology. Smells like delicious juice, leaves skin super smooth.

Rodial Brazilian Self Tanner Light ($40) Don't be frightened by the "light" moniker. This tinted gel will get you Blake bronze overnight and smells only minimally of DHC, which is the goal as much as harvesting marijuana high in THC was that of "Savages'" Ben and Chon.

Jimmy Choo Glitter Scented Body Oil ($44) The final touch for sexy, smooth, GLITTERING gams. Jimmy Choo's sweetly scented oil boasts so much sparkle, it makes any outfit infinitely sultrier.

What are your summer go-to hair, body and makeup items you can't live without?
