Jane Iredale PureLash Lengthening Mascara

This week, Official Mascara Correspondent Ashleigh Ciucci takes on Jane Iredale PureLash Lengthening Mascara. Find out how she fares below, in her review.

Jane Iredale is an old-school cosmetics staple yet I've never tried her mascara. Known for her mineral creations long before it was trendy, Jane offers products to achieve a clean classic palette. With a slim gold tube this mascara appears to fit right in with that classic feel. When opening the tube, I saw the standard tapered firm brush with fluffy fibers attached; this mascara contains cellulose fibers to build length.  As a contacts wearer, I'm always a bit wary to try fiber mascaras, but I gave it a go! The fibers allowed for great grip with one coat, leaving me with soft fluffy lashes.  Ironically enough, despite being a lengthening mascara I found that two coats offered more volume than length. My roots were dense with soft tips which is great for day.

When I went in midday, I found that I loved the mascara even more.  The more coats I added, the more LASH I got (I mean, duh, but you don't usually think of wearing four coats of mascara first thing in the morning!)  As a side note, I should mention that the wand is slightly unwieldy: the wand is quite long yet the handle is quite small.  I felt like I was putting my mascara on with my non-dominant hand.  This is a bit nit-picky but something I noticed!

All-in-all, I liked this mascara and the fibers offered no fuss with my contacts.  Even though it took a little work to get it off at the end of the night (I needed eye makeup remover plus soap and water), I like this one for makeup bag staple!--Ashleigh Ciucci
