As my inner Lorraine McFly lives specifically between the years of 1955 to 1963, I've long been obsessed with automats and anything -o-matic in an aggressively vintage fashion. My parents constantly talk about the wonder that was Horn & Hardart, where automated food was the thing. I'm so devastated I missed it and can practically TASTE the rice pudding when they discuss it. So when my favorite thing of the 21st century (beauty products, obv. Are you new?) and an automated system for distribution were so artfully combined by my gals at 3FLOZ, I CLAPPED.

3floz.com co-founders Kate Duff and Alexi Mintz have rolled out 25 fully automated retail stores in top domestic airports, including Houston, Dallas, Las Vegas, New York’s JFK, Raleigh-Durham, NC and Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN. Forgot your face wash? No problem. Want a hydrating eye cream for that transatlantic flight? They're on it. I ALWAYS have to buy an enormous non-carry-on friendly bottle of spray SPF the minute I land in my sunny destination so I am psyched to be able to purchase multiple minis en route instead. The product selection for the initial airport stores will be a mix of core, must-have often forgotten items such as sunscreen, hairspray and toothpaste, and novelty products like 3FLOZ’s popular ESSENTIALS travel kits and other giftable items. Top brands in the stores include Malin + Goetz, Supergoop!, Air Repair, Murad, David Kirsch Wellness Jack Black, Herban Essentials, Anthony for Men, Help Remedies, Ole Henriksen, Yes to Carrots, Philip B, BlowPro hair care, Supersmile, Avene, Burt’s Bees, Klorane, Dr. Dennis Gross and more.
Will you hit up an airport beauty automat?
