Kevyn Aucoin The Curling Mascara Review

This week, Official Mascara Correspondent Ashleigh Ciucci test-drives Kevyn Aucoin The Curling Mascara.
The beloved Aucoin's Curling Mascara is an industry staple for a reason: it gives great coverage, great wear and it was one of the first "tube technology" mascaras.

To start, the packaging is beautiful brushed wine metal with gold accents (as you may know, I'm a sucker for details.) The brush is a narrow Christmas-tree shape, making it ideal for getting every last lash on eyes of all sizes.  The formula is very wet which makes it build nicely on the lash.  After one coat, my lashes were formed in nice soft spikes with density at the roots and a touch of curl.  Because the product dries quite quickly and seals around each lash (magic!) a second coat isn't possible (neither is an afternoon touch-up.)

This is great though, because the depth of color holds all day and you're never left with raccoon eyes.   Just get all the shape you want with your initial application because your lashes will be frozen solid until you wash your face at the end of the night.

When washing your face, massage your lashes with soap and warm water; the tubes of product will slip off your lashes making for smudge-free lids. And just remind yourself that the product comes off like this or else you'll think your lashes are falling out!!!  This is a must have for any mascara enthusiast.--Ashleigh Ciucci

Kevyn Aucoin The Curling Mascara retails for $28 at Nordstrom.
